Resumark vs Jobscan: which is better for job matching?

Published · Written by the Resumark team

Short answer: Both score your resume against a job post. Pick Jobscan if you work on a computer, want the most detailed match report, and also want LinkedIn optimization and a job tracker. Pick Resumark if you want to build, match and tailor your resume on iPhone, iPad or the web, approve each AI change yourself, and pay less: Resumark Pro is $2.99/week or $9.99/month against Jobscan Premium at $49.95/month (October 2026).

Disclosure: Resumark is our product. Jobscan facts below come from Jobscan's own website, checked in October 2026 and linked under Sources.

How each tool approaches matching

Jobscan started as a match-rate scanner and it is still the centre of the product. You paste your resume and a job description, and Jobscan reports a match rate based on hard skills, soft skills, job title, education (when the job asks for an advanced degree) and other keywords. On the free plan you get a condensed skills list and searchability tips; the full match report is part of Premium.

Resumark starts from the resume itself. You paste a job post and get a 0–100 match score with matched and missing keywords, plus strengths and issues in plain language. From there, one tap tailors the resume: Resumark rewrites the headline, summary and the bullets that matter for that job in the employer's wording. You see each change and approve it, and it only adds a skill when you confirm you actually have it.

The difference is less about whether a score exists and more about what happens next. Jobscan gives you a detailed diagnosis and a set of tools to act on it. Resumark puts the diagnosis and the rewrite in the same editor, with a review step for every change.

If you just want to see the gap before choosing a tool, our free ATS keyword checker shows matched and missing keywords in your browser, no sign-up.

Where Resumark wins

Templates and ATS-friendly output

Both tools aim for resumes that applicant tracking systems can parse. Resumark's six templates are all single-column with real text and standard headings, and you can switch between them without retyping. Jobscan offers a free ATS-friendly resume builder. Neither is a tool for graphic, two-column designs; if that is what you want, see our roundup of AI resume builders.

Pricing in detail (checked October 2026)

Resumark: the editor, templates, health check and PDF export are free, and your first job match is free. More matches, tailoring, rewrites, drafts and cover letters need Resumark Pro, a weekly ($2.99) or monthly ($9.99) subscription in the iPhone app (US App Store prices).

Jobscan: the free plan includes 5 resume scans a month. Premium is $49.95 a month, or $89.95 billed every three months (about $29.98 a month), with unlimited scans. Jobscan's own pages differed on trial length when we checked, so confirm the current terms on its plan page before you subscribe.

Who should pick which?

Choose Jobscan if you are on a laptop, you want the most granular match report available, you also want help with your LinkedIn profile, and the price is not a concern.

Choose Resumark if you want to build and tailor your resume on your iPhone or iPad as well as the web, you want an AI that asks before changing anything, or you want a lower monthly cost.

Use both if you like Jobscan's report as a second opinion: tailor in Resumark, export the PDF, then scan it in Jobscan.

Neither, for now, if you are on Android and want an app: Resumark has no Android app yet, and we found no official Jobscan app. Both work in a browser.

Frequently asked questions

Is Resumark cheaper than Jobscan?

Yes, at October 2026 prices. Resumark Pro is $2.99/week or $9.99/month on the US App Store. Jobscan Premium is $49.95/month or $89.95 per quarter.

Does Jobscan have an iPhone app?

We found no official Jobscan app in the App Store or on Jobscan's site in October 2026; Jobscan is used in a web browser. Resumark has native iPhone and iPad apps plus a web app.

Is the Resumark match score the same as Jobscan's match rate?

No. Each tool calculates its own score, and no third-party score is the number an employer's ATS will assign. Use either one to find missing keywords and fix gaps honestly, not to chase 100.

Can I use ChatGPT instead of Jobscan or Resumark?

You can ask ChatGPT to compare a resume with a job post, but it has no built-in score, templates or version history, and it may add details you never gave it. See AI resume builder or ChatGPT?.
